Bears softball splits, baseball falls to Yreka

The Mount Shasta High School baseball and softball team both had games this past week.

The Lady Bears split with Los Molinos on the road last Wednesday, falling in game one 9-7, and dominating the second contest 21-2. MSHS is 1-2 for the season. Mount Shasta opened the year on Feb. 28 with an 11-8 loss at Maxwell. The Lady Bears also had a scrimmage contest versus the Yreka Lady Miners junior varsity squad on the road last Tuesday.

The Mount Shasta varsity baseball team opened the 2020 season Friday at home versus Yreka. The Miners dominated on the mound, with three YHS pitchers contributing to a perfect game, as the Bears fell 8-0.

This week, the Mount Shasta softball and baseball squads game were called off for the foreseeable future due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
