David W. Hietala, resident of Yreka, CA, passed away peacefully on Jan 16th, 2024.
Born in Illinois on 4 Sep, 1936, he was 87. David was an avid outdoorsman; hunter and fisherman. Indoor activities included shooting pool at the Vet Club. He was retired from Alaska Laborers. David is survived by sons Douglas and Martin Hietala and daughters Linda Strozier and Leisa Hietala, five grandchildren, a great granddaughter, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. David was especially close with his sister Ingrid Pettersson, and brother Eric Hietala, both reside in Sweden. Family and friends will miss him tremendously.
